Un Kai Kū Wasan and her husband, Robert, retired from the School of Music at Wichita State University and relocated to their little log cabin in Southwestern Montana in 2010. There, they live with their two pups, leaving Montana only occasionally to visit grandchildren. Kū Wasan maintains a daily practice, which includes an ongoing acceptance and gratitude for Montana winters that last at least six months of the year. After taking Jukai in 2001, Ku Wasan was ordained as a novice priest in 2011. Her shukke tokudo was held in Wichita, Kansas with the Southwind Sangha.
